29 jobs to be axed as Bristol's DVLA office to close
THE Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's Bristol office is to close, with the loss of 29 jobs.
The office in Lime Kiln close, Stoke Gifford, is one of 39 regional offices and 10 enforcement centres across the country which are to shut by the end of next year. They employ more than 1,200 people - a fifth of the agency's staff.

The offices carry out a range of administrative functions such as arranging trade plates for garages, vehicle inspections and personalised registration mark transfers.
Announcing the closures yesterday Roads Minister Mike Penning said they would give drivers a quicker, better service by centralising the DVLA's services and making more transactions available online, and would save taxpayers £26 million per year.
