18 months' jail for serial fraudster
A SERIAL fraudster who ripped off a pal and got refunds on stolen goods has been jailed for 18 months.
Mahmoud Hussain borrowed £500 from a family friend and didn't repay it, Bristol Crown Court heard. He also scammed shops in Bristol, Taunton and Shepton Mallet by presenting them with stolen goods and getting refunds.
Hussain, 51, of Ashley Road, Bristol, admitted eight frauds totalling £1,275.69.
Jason Taylor, defending, said his client, an intelligent man who had worked as an interpreter, was introduced to drugs by a neighbour and started using crack cocaine and heroin four years ago.
