Shoppers will be able to park at Cabot Circus for £1 per hour until next year.

Cut-price parking introduced as a promotion this summer has been so successful it is being extended until January 31.

The promotion, which was originally due to finish on Sunday, September 6, has seen a sharp increase in the number of cars using the car park and resulted in thousands of additional shoppers visiting Cabot Circus each week.

Parking costs £1 per hour from 7am until 5pm for up to seven hours, with a special evening rate of £1 for unlimited parking between 5pm and 7am. Also, parking is still only £2 for all day on Sundays, making Cabot Circus the cheapest car park in Bristol. On Saturday, September 5, ten finalists will be at Cabot Circus to find out who has won a Volkswagen Polo Match, supplied courtesy of Heritage Bristol.

During the summer promotion, customers with a valid parking ticket were able to enter a prize draw to win the car.

Cabot Circus centre director Richard Belt, said: "We have witnessed a steep rise in the number of cars using the car park over the past two months, as well as increased footfall.

"After receiving positive feedback from the public, we have decided to extend the cheap parking rates until the New Year, giving our customers a little bit of extra help during these difficult times."
