1,200 wine bottles stolen from lorry
Thieves took 1,200 bottles of wine worth a total of £20,000 from a lorry when the driver stopped for the night in a layby on the A46 near Bath.
While the driver slept the thieves took three pallets from the articulated lorry.
They contained Cornas Empreintes, St Joseph & St Péray wine from Bernard Gripa, Vin de Paille and Arbois from Jacques Puffeney and Côtes du Jura wine from Ganevat.
All the wine was on its way to Bristol wholesales Vine Trail based in Stoke Bishop.
The Gripa wines are exclusive to Vine Trail and the Ganevat was described as "irreplaceable".
The wine represented four large orders.
If anyone is offered or sees any of these wines, they should contact Bath police on 0845 4567000, crime ref 36948/09 (Log 276).

“The first miracle that Jesus performed was at a wedding where he turned 6 huge jars of water each containing 20-30 gallons of water into wine.
Assuming average of 25 gallons, that equals 1200 bottles!
Some wedding eh? Why do some people think that God wants to spoil our fun?”
